As I do not live in Finland I miss most of the sample sales that those lovely Finnish designers do.  It seems to be that they normally have the sample sales only in their boutiques and the online shop is not included. Very often they do have the sample sales at the same time, so I could of course try to head to Finland around this time of the year and visit then all the sales :)

I did have my sample sale happiness from one of the designer, who, even being Finnish, is not based in Finland. And their sample sale was online :)

Everyone, this is what I found (and bought) - the boots from Finsk
I have wrote about Finks already before but if you wonder what else they do, I collected few pictures you to see. If you want to see more, click here and here.
The design of their shoes is something different and I guess that is one of the reason I like them so much :)

What do you think about Finsk?

Cheers for now,
Sanna

Please note all the pictures, except the first one, belong to Finsk.

It is raining today, not that kind of evil autumn rain that predicts winter, but nice and warm spring rain which helps everything to grow and brings summer few steps closer… The rain reminds me of my childhood and how much stuff we needed to wear when we were going to play when it was raining. We had rain jackets, rain hats (you know the ones that the fisherman wear), rain gloves, rain pants and of course rubber boots J. In Finland you get to use quite a lot of rubber boots (or at least you did when I was young) and there are few rubber boot brands in Finland that everyone knows: Hai (shark) and Kontio (bear).  They both are made by Nokia. Yes, you read it correct, Nokia J Not that Nokia which makes mobile phones, but Nokia Footwear. Although a long, long time ago, they were a same company (if you want to read more about it, you can find the history from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia)). Even when being a teenager you wore the rubber boots, although usually they were the Kontio ones and you bend the boot of the arm, so that the rubber boots looked more like ankle boots.

You can still buy the Kontio and Hai rubber boots, but Nokia Footwear (
http://nokianjalkineet.fi/en/) will also release a new product range for autumn 2013 of rubber boots that are design for city use.  The design of these rubber boots is made by Julia Lundsten. Julia has her own shoe and accessory brand called FINSK (http://www.finsk.com/) and she has won quite many awards with her designs. The shoe designer Manolo Blahnik has described her shoes as: “Exquisite, divine and perfect”.

Would I be able to walk with high heels, I would definite go for these ones: http://finskshop.tictail.com/product/369-32-black and I think the little bit off heel is what makes these boots different from others. What do you think?

And the rubber boots she designed for Nokia? The whole story of the A/W 2013-14 launch can be found from here: http://nokianbyjulialundsten.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/aw13-14-uk-launch.html. Please note that the pictures belong to the Nokia Footwear.

Which ones are your favourites? I think I would go for the ones which has orange just on top of the heel.

As a matter of fact, I don’t have any rubber boots, so maybe it is time to get ones ;)

Sanna
